1 NOTE Annie was born in 1871. We knew from her daugher (Miriam Middleton) that her mother died whe
2 CONC n she was 2 year old and her father when she was about 5.  She was then in the Workhouse unti
2 CONC l she was about 11, when she went to live with the HIbbert family near Unstone (actually Hund
2 CONC all) in Derbyshire.  Mr and Mrs Hibbert died in 1885/1887 and Annie then went into service i
2 CONC n Barnsley.

2 CONT Annie was in service with a Parson Bailey, Mr Asquith (see 1891), Mallinson's (at a farm at B
2 CONC arugh), and finally at Mr&Mrs Barron's, at Greenfoot Lane, Barnsley.  One of these jobs may h
2 CONC ave been at 'Forelands' at Barugh ('near Brooks Motors').  While at Barugh she met Robert Smi
