Mapping Applications
*** DisMap *** (368kb Zip) is a little creation of my own. Its
written in MS Access and produces distribution maps from data brought into
the Access database either by copying tables, setting up linked tables or via queries.
Typically the data would be Eastings, Northings and Value data for 1km grid
squares or for specific grid references. The zip file includes an HTML note
explaining the facility (Also available here).
DatMap is 'son of DisMap'. It is a stand-alone Windows application to produce
distribution maps (as shown on the right), that includes its own database and data handling. It
takes the idea of DisMap and makes it dance (a bit!).

DatMap v2.2 *** (2.7mb Zip) is now available (March 2008). Please feel free to try it or take a look at its
Help
Files and details of the latest
Changes.
Any feedback would be most welcome (via email).
If you've tried v1, the change you will immediately notice in v2.2 is a 'Registration' facility. This
will enable me to keep users informed of new versions. There are no locked or
hidden facilities if you don't register, but getting a registration code will remove a 'nag'
screen displayed when you open the application.
OH NO! It appears that DATMAP is a registered name used by DatMap Corporation (a US Company) for
their (professional) GIS based mapping software -
'Computer software for use in the field of sales forecasting that analyzes
and displays demographic, sales, market, and market research data for use
in site selection'. Their president has been in touch, and I have gladly
agreed to include this note highlighting the clash of names and providing a link to their web site
www.datmap.com (currently being
redesigned 10/2007) for more information.
Photography, Graphics
*** NupPrint *** (1.5mb Zip) is
a little Windows application that I have written to lay out and print a folder of images
'N-up' in the page. The user has lots of control over the layout,
including selecting or omitting images, adding a
title, captions and a footer, and setting fonts, text alignment and size, etc. Image
captions can also include selected 'EXIF' information for digital photos,
such as the date the photo was taken and the exposure. Pages can then be
previewed and selectively printed. The Zip include help
details, and the help file is also
available here. PLEASE NOTE that I regard NupPrint as a beta-test
version. Any feedback would be welcomed (via email).
Utilities
*** ToDoList *** (1.8 mb Zip) is
a Windows application that maintains a simple ToDo list and Diary.
Entries can be added, copied, edited, prioritised and deleted
in various ways, and can be displayed in
a number of 'views' to show different combinations of entry types.
Views can be printed, or can be saved as CSV files.
ToDo entries can be dated and timed and can show an alarm when the time is
reached. Repeating entries can be created for regular events and reminders.
The Zip include help
details, and the help file is also
available here. PLEASE NOTE that I regard ToDoList as a beta-test
version. Any feedback would be welcomed (via email).
*** HexDump *** (1mb Zip) is
a simple Windows utility to produce a Hex dump of a file. It does what it says on
the tin! Either drop a file onto the icon or open the .exe and Select a
file. Jump backwards and forwards or to a location in the file, or search
for byte strings as Hex, Decimal or Text. Go Play!
