Adrian's Random Guide to Tea Shops
and other places to spend money

BIG BIG BIG BIG CAVEAT ...
Much of the information on these pages is out of date. Please treat it with caution - some places mentioned have since changed hands or no longer exist!!!!!

This whole site started as a favour to my colleague Peter when he complained that he needed some places to aim for when taking his son, Richard, out for driving lessons. Peter’s wife, Jill, likes craft shops, Richard needed regular practice, and Peter needed inspiration. Richard has since passed his test - and even had his first violent meeting with a wall (a minor scrape), but the random guide still goes on.

So here are some suggested places to visit within reach of Sheffield. I started with the Peak District of Derbyshire (see interactive map) - and I have since added a page on places to the South East of Sheffield and into Nottinghamshire (see interactive map) - who knows where where we will end up. The order and the selection of places in the text is fairly random, guided only by the tea, soup, scones, sandwiches, etc. and places of interest.

The opinions expressed in these pages are mine or those of my colleagues anf friends who have visited the places mentioned. I have generally only included places that someone has recommended. If anyone feels that I have misrepresented their favourite tea shop, please let me know (use the email link) and I will add your comments. If you own or manage one of the mentioned establishments. and want me to include a web or mail link (or correct the name, location, etc.), let me know. This is all done to help us enjoy life - and sometimes we need all the help we can get!!!
